What is concrete? Concrete is one of artificial stone material that consists of binding material, aggregates, water and other additive materials, which mixed together through blending, shaping and hardening process. Before the hardening, such material usually called concrete mixture, namely, new concrete.

The categories of concretes

1. Classified by Unite Weight

(1) Heavy concrete with apparent density over 2600kg/m, which is made of heavy aggregates of big density and intensity, such as barite, hematite iron ore, steel cuttings. Such concrete is mainly used for structures with radiance and abrasive resistance purposes.

(2) General Concrete with apparent density between 1900-2500kg/m is the most commonly and widely used. It is the most common cement concrete, which is made of natural rock aggregates with high density, used in construction.

(3) Light concrete with apparent density below 1900kg/m. There are two kinds of light concrete. One is made of Muti-whole light aggregates, another kind is made of muti-whole concrete during concrete making process.

2. Classified by Applications:

Cement-concrete could be classified by different purposes like structure concrete, hydraulic concrete, road concrete, marine concrete, mass concrete, acid-resistant concrete, heat-resistant concrete etc.
