Flat Hammer Fastening Methods for Impact Crusher

When structure of flat hammer designed, it is very important for fastening methods of flat hammer fixed on the rotor, which affects the service life of flat hammer

Flat hammer is the key and wear part of impact crusher, and its service life has a close relationship with the production capacity, so it should be reasonable designed. When structure of flat hammer designed, it is very important for fastening methods of flat hammer fixed on the rotor, which affects the service life of flat hammer. There are a lot of installation methods to fix the rotor on the crusher.  Here are the three most common methods.

Embedded fastening method. The flat hammer inserted into the groove of rotor from the side of crusher, the both ends need to be positioned with pressing plate in case the axial movement. Hammer head rotating centrifugal force will be fasten the locked with the impacting counter force, for the rotor parts of susceptible to wear, which will be formed by replaceable structure. So the installation is easy and manufacture is simple.

Wedge fastening method. The wedge inserted into the corresponding hole between the flat hammer and rotor to make it fasten. The wedge fastening method is more reliable and loading is also more convenient, due to eliminate the relative shift between the flat hammer and the rotor causes the rotor wear reduced. However, using bolt tensioning wedge, the thread is easy to deformation and damage, even fracture. Thread deformation also causes a great difficulty for flat hammer disassembling.

Bolt fastening method. Hammer plates are fixed in hammer plate seat of the rotor with bolts. Hammer plate seat with tenon can bear the impact of the plate hammer, avoid shearing bolt and improve bolt connection reliability.

Bolt fastening method is not suitable for high impact load. It is usually used for small crusher. Embedded fastening methods and wedge fastening methods is convenient for hammer change, more reliable, but plate hammer utilization rate is low. Only mastering above three fastening methods, regularly check fastening situation to avoid equipment break down.
